Sample Curtain Layouts

The layout/design of Stage Curtains and Track varies from stage to stage. What works for an Elementary School may not necessarily workfor a Middle School or a High School. Variations are made because of size differences, use differences and budget differences. Below are some sample layouts.

Typical Small Stage

This is the most common layout that is seen in Elementary Schools or Church Youth areas; a Main bi-parting traveler with a Valance at the opening and a Rear on curved track that is walk along operated and may be comprised of multiple curtain panels. There is also a Border curtain to mask any overhead Theatrical Lighting and the ceiling.

Typical Small Stage 2

This layout is just a variation of the small stage layout. Instead of having a curved Rear curtain, the Rear is on a bi-parting straight track that can be rope operated or walk along operated. We suggest this type of layout if the stage is extra deep or there are doors against the upstage wall that may interfere with the rear curtain.

Typical Medium Stage

Typically seen in Middle Schools or small High Schools, this layout has multiple Borders and Leg curtains. The leg curtains can be fixed to a pipe or tied to a pivot device. A pivot device or Rotodraper allows the Leg curtains to be adjusted to best suit the current use of the stage.

Typical Large Stage

Usually found in High Schools or other type of Theaters and Auditoriums, this layout has a Mid Traveler curtain on bi-parting track. Along with the extra traveler there are some additional curtains for lighting effects such as Sharkstooth Scrim or a Muslin Cyc.

The layouts above are just some typical examples. Every stage is different so these layouts are adjusted to best fit the space of the stage and your intended use. Please call our sales staff to discuss other layouts and options
